Jacuh's "Death Note"

Jacuh, the twenty-one-year-old artist mixing trap metal and alt hip-hop, is back with a new single, "Death Note." He’s been making music since he was only thirteen years old, and this song is the culmination of years refining his sound. Balancing full-time work, school (studying chemical dependency counseling), and a growing music career, Jacuh’s grind is real, and "Death Note" shows just how focused he is.

An avid fan of anime, Jacuh drew inspiration for this track from one of his favorites—Death Note. He had the idea for the song over a year ago but waited to piece everything together, making sure it landed just in time for Halloween. The track's energy is feels chaotic in the best way possible, with aggressive vocals and intense production. What’s more impressive? Jacuh did it all himself—producing the beat, recording, mixing, and mastering the track.

Just like the dark, high-stakes world of the anime Death Note, where tension, conflict, and intensity run high, Jacuh’s track channels that same energy. The series’ main character, Light, is consumed by power and obsession, and Jacuh’s aggressive sound mirrors that intensity, creating a musical atmosphere that feels chaotic yet controlled, much like the anime itself. It’s all about capturing that relentless drive and dark emotion, and he achieves exactly that with this track. Scream music has certainly found its place in the underground, and Jacuh is a testament to the ongoing pursuit of pushing this subgenre even further.

As he has become more honed in on the specific sound that is on display in “Death Note,” Jacuh has been gaining momentum, just surpassing 4k monthly listeners, with his biggest song “HIGHERTHANABITCH,” pulling in upwards of 30k streams. And while "Death Note" fits his current trap metal/alt hip-hop lane, Jacuh’s not one to box himself in. “Right now this is my sound, but who knows? One day I might do some completely ‘out of left field’ shit,” he says, showing he’s prepared to continue experimenting sonically.
